Dustin Curtis has a great post about getting the best. The best is a concept that resonates with me, and I can testify to his statement that having a trust in your tools is liberating. It’s that feeling that makes it worth it. Having a few, fine, quality things that do exactly what you need them to do day after day is hugely better than having many things that need to be tested, stored, tried, and evaluated.
It’s why I designed and built my own desk.
It’s why I refuse to buy another computer, tablet, or phone that isn’t “retina” resolution.
It’s why I like contemporary architecture and modern furniture.
It’s because I want the simplest, the optimum, the best, from my things.
